Small Business Development

This project is designed for business leaders, government officials involved in promoting small business development and entrepreneurial efforts, representatives of chambers of commerce, and business school professors and administrators.

The U.S. Department of State has identified the following specific objectives for this project:

• To highlight the economic, political and social factors that influence and encourage the development of small businesses and entrepreneurship in the U.S.
• To explore the role of small businesses in driving economic development, democratization, and stabilization around the world;
• To demonstrate the impact of American small businesses on the local, regional, national and global economies.
